The social media landscape is changing a lot. For a time businesses and creators used Facebook’s free reach to bring people to their websites sales pages and booking sites.. Now with the new Meta One subscription program things are different.

The biggest change is that Meta has limited the number of links that can go outside of Facebook. Now free unverified Facebook Pages and ProMode profiles can only post two links in organic posts or comments each month. For SEO Specialist who working on SEO campaigns selling courses or getting people to sign up or for a software demo this can stop traffic from coming in and hurt the way they get new customers.

The Big Change in Meta One – Organic Link Limits

The main surprise for marketers is the limit on outside links. Free unverified Facebook Pages and ProMode profiles are limited to two posts or comments with links each month.

For people who are starting an SEO course or trying to get people to sign up for an app this limit can stop traffic from coming in.

How the Meta One limit works

Free Accounts – The limit resets every month on the day. Any unused links don’t carry over.

Exceptions: Links that go to Meta sites like Instagram, WhatsApp or Threads don’t count. Links in paid ads or affiliate links don’t count.

Comments: If you add a link in a post any follow-up links in the comments of the post don’t use up your limit.

Meta One Limit

Enter Meta One: The Subscription Solution

Meta One is a set of subscription plans that replace the old “Meta Verified” program. It combines tools AI help and account verification into one monthly fee. For Page admins the Creator and Business plans with Advanced, Expert and Max tiers are the main choices.

The Good Points (Pros)

No Limits on Links: Upgrading to a Meta One business plan gets rid of the two-link limit. This is important if you send people to pages, software or courses.

Quick Trust: People who get verified get the checkmark. This builds trust, which’s good when selling professional services or upskilling tools.

Better. Automation: Higher plans give power to the Meta Business Agent. This lets you set up 24/7 help on Messenger and WhatsApp. That helps get leads

Better Team Work: No more sharing passwords. Meta One lets multiple people work on the account safely.

The Bad Points (Cons)

You Have to Pay: Some features that were free before are now behind a paywall. That can be frustrating.

Getting Costs More: The cheapest plan starts at about 14.99 a month. If you need tools or help you might have to pay 49.99, 149 or even 499 a month.

It Doesn’t Fix Bad Content: Meta One helps a plan but it doesn’t fix bad content. If your posts don’t work, paying won’t help.

Should You Subscribe?

It depends on your plan. If your business works best by keeping people inside Meta using built-in forms or sending people to WhatsApp you might not need the subscription.

If your business needs a lot of traffic to outside pages, checkout sites or other platforms a Meta One Business plan is becoming a must, not a luxury.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the 2-link limit apply to my normal personal Facebook profile?

No. The link limit currently applies only to Facebook Pages and personal profiles that have Professional Mode (ProMode) turned on. Standard personal profiles are not subject to the monthly quota, though Facebook’s algorithm naturally limits the organic reach of posts containing external links anyway.

2. Can I get around the limit by posting the link in the comments instead of the main post?

Not exactly. If you publish a comment containing an external link on one of your Page’s posts, it still counts toward your monthly limit. The only exception is if you have already used up one of your allowed links in the main post—any additional links placed in the comments of that specific post will not count against your limit.

3. Do links to my Instagram or WhatsApp count against my monthly allowance?

No. Links directing traffic to other Meta-owned technologies (including Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Threads) are exempt and do not count toward your monthly limit. Links placed in paid ads or connected through Facebook’s official affiliate partnerships are also exempt.

4. If I subscribe to Meta One, can I post unlimited links?

Not necessarily. Only the highest tier—the Max plan (~$499/month)—removes the link ceiling entirely. The other business plans still have monthly caps. For instance, the Advanced plan (~$49.99/month) limits you to 8 link posts/comments per month, and the Expert plan (~$149/month) limits you to 20.
